NotesGalore Desktop: Privacy
Updated
Desktop downloads and new Paddle purchases are in preparation. The information below distinguishes the planned offer from existing license support.
Local notes and optional connections
Timastra LLC provides NotesGalore. Notes, notebooks, tasks, calendar events, attachments and saved versions stay in the app's local database unless you export them or deliberately connect a service. Core local work needs no NotesGalore account. Timastra does not keep a hosted copy of your notes.
Backups and shared folders
Keep independent backups. An export is not encrypted unless you choose a supported passphrase-protected backup. A forgotten passphrase cannot be recovered. Desktop shared-folder sync writes unencrypted records and attachment files into a folder you choose; access and any onward upload depend on that folder and your storage provider. It is not per-note sharing or real-time co-editing.
Google Drive
Optional encrypted Google Drive sync uses your own Google storage and an explicit connection. Access is currently restricted to authorized OAuth test accounts. Keep the recovery key separately; Timastra cannot recover it. Disconnecting does not erase existing remote copies or backups.
Purchase and activation information
Desktop subscription checkout is not open. Existing configured desktop licenses use a license key, a device identifier, signed activation receipts and an activation service; saved activations may refresh online when the app starts. These requests do not send note content. For a future Paddle purchase, Paddle handles billing contact, transaction, tax and payment records under its own privacy notice. Timastra handles the purchase and support records needed to supply the software.
