This policy explains the app’s data use, including optional features and differences between supported platforms.
Your hiking log and location
Your name, body mass, climb notes, dates, companions, photos, tracks and attached health summaries are stored locally on your device or browser. Original GPX files can contain location, sensor readings and other metadata the app does not display; full backups, sync and GPX exports can include those bytes. Plans can contain an expected return time and a check-in contact. Location permission shows your position and records a hike you start. When location is already allowed and no region is selected, Home can also use your last known or current position to suggest nearby mountains. These suggestions are computed on your device. A foreground location service lets mobile recording continue with the screen off. Browsing mountains and manually logging climbs do not need location permission.
Optional Google Drive sync
In configured builds you can connect a Google account to sync saved hikes, photos, routes, plans, wishlist, attached health summaries and recovery data to an app-specific area of your Google Drive. This can include precise location, companions, notes and contact details. Profile name, body mass, unfinished recording drafts and offline map downloads are not included. Google sign-in supplies account identity; tokens are not included in sync files. The app does not add end-to-end encryption. Google handles stored data under its privacy policy. Sync is optional, uses your Drive storage and requires connectivity; keep a separate backup because sync can propagate edits and deletions.
Optional health connection
With your permission, Health Connect or Apple Health supplies heart rate, exercise sessions, steps, distance, calories, floors climbed and exercise routes where available. Android uses total calories and iOS uses active energy. Older history access supports earlier climbs; routes may need separate permission. The Android app also lists the physical-activity (activity recognition) permission with its read-only health permissions; Bundok has no separate activity-tracking feature.
How health readings are used
Readings display and save the hiking session in your log. The app does not write health data, sell it or use it for advertising. Revoke access in system settings to stop future reads; saved summaries must be deleted separately.
Photos and exports
Camera and photo access are used when you add photos. User-created backups, GPX exports and summit cards may contain precise location, health data, names and photos and are not encrypted by the app. External map links share the destination with that provider.
Maps and weather services
The topographic map is served by our own map server (tiles.timastra.com, hosted on Cloudflare). Other map layers and terrain request tiles from OpenStreetMap, Esri and public elevation services. Maps saved offline by earlier versions from OpenTopoMap are read from your device and not requested again. When weather is enabled, current web and configured mobile builds request the selected catalog mountain's coordinates and elevation from bundok-weather.timastra.com, hosted on Cloudflare. That service retrieves and caches MET Norway model forecasts, with visible source and licence credit. It keeps bounded forecast caches and aggregate service-status/budget logs; those logs contain catalog summit identifiers, not your hiking record or current GPS position. Older development builds may use Open-Meteo directly; Android builds can also disable weather. The web app loads its pinned map library from unpkg. Services receiving a direct request, including our map and weather hosts, receive normal network information such as your IP address and requested map area. The weather proxy passes only the selected catalog summit coordinates and elevation to MET Norway. Opening an external map or source link shares the requested destination with that provider. The app does not send your climb log, photos, private tracks or health summaries to these map or weather services. Their handling of network requests is governed by their own policies.
Android Pro subscription
Bundok Pro is an auto-renewing annual Android subscription at PHP 199 per year in the Philippines. Android includes free mountain discovery, online maps, GPS recording, logs and photos, basic progress, one active plan and one offline map. Pro adds multiple plans and maps, detailed preparation, route guidance, forecasts, GPX/watch imports, analysis and replay. The public web app offers browsing and data recovery, not subscriber tools. When this build is configured for billing, RevenueCat and Google Play process a pseudonymous app-user identifier, purchase, renewal and entitlement information, and normal device/network information to verify and restore subscriptions. This app does not send your hiking log, health readings, photos or private tracks to RevenueCat. RevenueCat maintains purchase information and an on-device ownership cache; deleting a hike does not delete a store transaction. Google Play controls payment, subscription management, purchase history and refunds. Pro purchase terms
The store displays the full localized annual charge before confirmation. Billing is annual and renews automatically until cancelled in Google Play; there is no trial or one-time purchase. Manage or cancel through the in-app subscription management link or Google Play's subscriptions page. Cancellation retains access through the remaining paid period. Pending payments do not unlock tools; expiry, account hold or verified revocation locks normal premium tools. Your saved hikes, plans, photos, tracks and map files are retained. You can export, restore for safekeeping or delete your own data without subscribing, and an already-started hike can finish/recover/save. Android logs and photos remain readable and editable after expiry. Existing plans and offline maps remain readable; free allowances apply to new plans and downloads. Pro analysis, route guidance, replay and detailed preparation require active access. Existing exported files remain yours. Offline subscription access is bounded by the last verified validity period; connect to confirm an unverified renewal. Restore billing with the same Google Play account; a new device needs a store connection, and hiking data moves through backups or optional Google Drive sync when configured. Pro does not include rescue, guaranteed map/weather availability, purchases on other platforms or promised unbuilt features. Refund requests follow Google Play's process and applicable rules. Retention and deletion
Delete saved climbs, photos and tracks in the app; discard unfinished recording drafts and remove attached GPX files separately. Offline maps lets you delete packs and browse caches. Clearing app storage or browser site data removes local records and the local ownership cache but does not erase Google Play or RevenueCat purchase records. Removing an app-managed photo does not delete its original. Exports and operating-system backups remain under your control. Deleting a climb does not delete original watch data from Health Connect or Apple Health. Original GPX copies are removed locally only when no saved reference or recovery operation needs them. Earlier Google Drive sync revisions may retain deleted data for conflict recovery; disconnecting stops sync but does not erase those copies. Remove the app data through Google Drive connected-app settings and delete exports and operating-system backups separately.

Support messages and your privacy choices
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, troubleshoot and handle privacy requests. Email and hosting providers process these communications and ordinary connection information. We retain correspondence as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations; you may request deletion of correspondence.
You may request access, correction, export or deletion of personal information we hold, or raise an objection or withdraw consent where applicable. Local-only records must be managed on your device because we do not hold a remote copy. Optional device permissions can be revoked in system settings. Service providers may process data outside your country under their own policies; security also depends on your device and any destinations you choose for exports.
Contact and policy changes
Email support@timastra.com for Bundok ng Pinas privacy questions. Include the app name and enough non-sensitive information to identify your request. Never send passwords, authentication codes, recovery keys or private health, financial or photo backups. We may need to verify ownership before releasing or deleting hosted records.
